Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the Cortiscale website. Please read them before using the site.

1. Introduction and scope

This website is operated by Cortiscale, based in the Netherlands. In these terms, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to Cortiscale, and ‘you’ refers to a person using the website.

These terms set out the basis on which you may access and use our public website. If you do not agree with these terms, please stop using the website. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

The website provides information about our work and lets you contact us. Sending an enquiry does not create a contract for training, consultancy or other services. Those services are subject to a separate agreement.

2. Copyright and intellectual property

Copyright © 2026 Cortiscale. Subject to the express provisions of these terms, we and our licensors own and control the copyright and other intellectual property rights in the website and its materials. All such rights are reserved.

Third-party names, trademarks and materials remain the property of their respective owners. Material made available under a separate licence remains subject to that licence.

3. Licence to use the website

You may view pages in a web browser, download pages for browser caching, and print or save reasonable extracts for your own personal or internal business use, subject to these terms and any applicable statutory exceptions. Keep copyright and attribution notices with any permitted copies.

Unless you own the relevant rights, have our prior permission or are permitted by applicable law, you must not republish, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute or commercially exploit our website materials. You must not present our materials or branding as your own or imply our endorsement without permission.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the website in an unlawful, fraudulent or harmful way, or infringe the rights of another person.
  • Cause damage to the website or impair its performance, availability or accessibility.
  • Transmit malicious software, attempt unauthorised access, bypass security controls or abuse the contact form.
  • Conduct systematic scraping, data mining or other automated data collection without our written permission, except where allowed by applicable law. Ordinary search-engine indexing is permitted when it respects our published crawling instructions.
  • Use information obtained from the website to send unsolicited marketing or spam.

5. Information you submit

You must ensure that information you supply through the website is accurate, not misleading, and lawful to share. Do not submit material that infringes another person’s rights or confidential information that you are not authorised to disclose.

You retain ownership of material you submit. You permit us to receive, store and use it only as necessary to handle your enquiry, communicate with you and meet applicable legal obligations. Our processing of personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

  • Read our Privacy Policy

6. Website information and availability

We take reasonable care with the information on our website, but do not warrant that all information is complete, accurate or up to date, or that the website will remain available without interruption. We may update, change or discontinue website content or functionality.

Website content is general information and does not replace advice tailored to your circumstances. Case-study results describe particular projects and do not guarantee the same outcome for another organisation. Any commitments about a paid engagement must be set out in the separate service agreement.

7. Third-party links

The website may link to third-party websites or resources. Those sites are operated independently and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. A link does not imply our endorsement. We do not control third-party content or its availability.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct or deliberate recklessness, death or personal injury where liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Dutch law. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to those safeguards and only to the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits or business opportunities, or loss arising from events beyond our reasonable control in connection with use of this free website. These website terms do not change liability agreed in a separate service contract.

9. Protecting the website

Where reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users or our rights, we may restrict access that breaches these terms, investigate misuse or take appropriate legal action. Any action will be subject to applicable law and will not remove rights or remedies available to you by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The revised version and its last-updated date will be published on this page and apply to future website use. Changes do not retrospectively alter a separate agreement or accrued rights. We will give additional notice or obtain agreement where required by law.

11. Severability

If a provision of these terms is determined by a competent court to be unlawful or unenforceable, the other provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law. An invalid provision will not be used to restrict a mandatory right.

12. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes relating to these terms may be brought before the competent courts of the Netherlands, subject to mandatory rules on jurisdiction.

If you act as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of the country where you habitually reside, where those protections apply. Your right to bring proceedings before a court available to you under mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules is preserved.

13. Contact us

For questions about these terms or permission to use website materials, contact Cortiscale through our website contact form. Include ‘Website terms’ in your message so we can direct it appropriately.
